My dream, My Future

          Some people dream of success, while other people get up every morning and make it happen. "Live your values, pursue your dreams, and follow your passions" this really implies the true ways we must do to have the best future life we could possibly have.

          Over my life time, I would like to achieve many things but there are more important things that I would like to accomplish. I have been exhilarating by my dreams from the day I knew why I came into this world to so far and even in future which makes me different from others. It is a goal, an aim, a direction for my life. It is not strange from the outside but from the inside. Everyone has dreams. Whether they become a doctor, teacher, engineer, architect and many more. Just think positively because possibilities are endless. For me, I plan to become a nurse someday. Maybe at the age of 27, I will settle down and marry someone. I would also want to travel around the world. At my age, that's just what i'm planning for my future but we don't know the possibilities that will happen on my future. I'll just study hard to make it happen and never give up.

          As you can see, my dreams aren't that big. My parents expect a lot of me so I will strive hard to meet their expectations. My dreams are what keeps me going and is keeping me fighting.

ISNHS Foundation Day

          Foundation day is not new to others. It is a celebration in a particular school or university. It is a day when the ancestors of the school or university has been found.

          In my 4 years of studying at our school, I have been experiencing high school days. In my opinion, It's very fun and enjoyable because we are able to perform a field demo where in every grade levels will perform a dance number. There is also a Mr. and Ms. ISNHS. Though it is not full of activities and booths, I still enjoyed every bit of it because I'm with my classmates and friends. We shared many laughter and smiles watching our other schoolmates dance. We also cheered them. It's a bit tiring because it is too hot when we performed our dance but nevertheless, it's awesome. It is nice watching our adings dance and also our ates and kuyas in the senior high school. We also watched our teachers dance and be able to see their hidden talents in dancing.

          Overall, I had fun, my friends had fun, everyone had fun, then I'm happy. Even if I'm experiencing it every year and it's my 4th year already, it's still have the different fun that's giving us. The feelings always changes, it is like different every year.

Kannawidan Festival Insights

          

          Ilocos Sur is known for its rich and historical culture. Kannawidan Festival is one of the festivals that Ilocos Sur celebrates. It is in from the last week of January up to the first week of February.

          This year's Kannawidan was a blast. It has so many activities. Tourists watched a beautiful performances of street dance emphasizing the culture of Vigan. There's also so many artists that came to also celebrate with us like Callalily, Silent Sanctuary, December Avenue and many more. The activities encourages many tourists to come and visit our place because of the beautiful and unique culture of the Ilocanos.

          This festival aims to create awareness in the preservation of the provinces' rich culture, practices and traditions. We, ilocanos, should be proud and promote this cultures and traditions  that we have.

Change: Starts With Me

          Change. It is a big word that every human is in hard time figuring what to change. It's like when your getting mature, it changes you. Maturity starts when we own our mistakes and take necessary action for correcting them.

          Change, however, does not always occur in isolation. One person's transformation is sustained by another because we need each other. Changing means it is on your own will and not others. It's not like when other people tell you to change because they don't want your attitude or anything about you. It's up to us if we want to change ourselves. In changing ourselves, it also means that we need to cope up in our surroundings again. If I will change then maybe the place where I'm in will let me again adopt it. Especially when people are the one who insisted to change myself. The whole me will start to change in a good way. Not all people change in a good or better ways, maybe some changed in a wrong way. Changing in a wrong way means also hurting and disappointing your own self because we all know that we change to be better, to start a new and be a good person not only inside but also in the outside.

          Change for the better and stop the wrong doings. Implementing good things means helping and encouraging others to also do it..

Updated Version Of Me

          Every new year, you'll see the cliche caption that says "New Year, New Me" in the social media. It is not that every human can be their new self, right? Everyone of us is not perfect and have differences.

          Instead of saying that this new year, it'll be the new me, I will say that this new year, it will be the updated version of me. I think it's about time we put this whole idea that a new year makes us a different person because it isn't. The only thing that really changes is the date but ourselves, it's up to us if we'll change for the better or to stay who we are and who we want us to be. This new year, I want to update myself by doing things that will benefit me and to help me grow and to be a good person. First, I will make self-care a priority. Self-care isn't just one thing and is not the same thing to everyone. Basically, self-care means taking time to focus on things that contribute to your well-being. In the past years, I've been very careless with myself. I got my elbow dislocated and nearly locked myself up at our bathroom. This year, I'll try making self-care a priority. Just remember that everybody's not perfect and also remember to have compassion for ourselves. Don't over-react because there are going to be days when you'll mess up, just like me. But it's okay, perfection is overrated anyways. The second one is important for me. Breath. When I feel getting stressed out or anxious in things, I forget to breath, not literally, but to rest. This past few days, I found out that letting out a long sigh is so overwhelming. Taking a few deep breaths throughout the day can help me relax and find more presence and peace especially when I'm stress because of school works. The next one is gratitude. Because gratitude is the attitude. Instead of counting all the things that gone wrong, always be grateful for a healthy body, home, school, the sunshine, the flowers, friends and family around you. I'll try to count all the things that go right and watch things transform. I know that all those problems will turn into great opportunities. I know that by focusing on what we have, we get more of that back. Lastly, I want to surround myself with things that makes me happy. If it doesn't deserve me, I'll let it go. If it's not worth it, let it go. Life is too short and way too uncertain to spent it surrounded by things that will drain me, that will hurt me. I want to focus on things that makes me feel loved, fulfilled and happy.

          New Year is not all about getting your resolutions done and fulfilled. It's not the time of the year that all you ant is what you get, because let's face it, the "new year, new me" pressure means we tell ourselves off for it and make ourselves feel guilty. Which, in turn, only puts us off keeping to resolutions in the long-run. And in the end, most of us have thought "What's the point?", when breaking one so early on right? Let's stop with the resolutions. Let's stop it with the "new year, new me" and just focus on the "new me".

True Essence of Christmas

      It's the most wonderful time of the year. The time of the year where everyone's happy, blessed and loved. It's the only time of the year where everyone will gather and be jolly. It's the time when God was born .

      What is the true essence of Christmas? J. C Penney wrote, 'Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making. It is more than that. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving and forgiving.' Christmas is not all about merry making. We must also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period which is the love of God for humanity. Some may have planned to marry this year, to buy a new car or to move into their new apartment. We should count ourselves lucky to be alive to see this Christmas . An another year that's ending. This should be a period of gratitude to God for sparing our lives and counting us among the living . It should equally be an opportunity for us to mend our ways with God so that we will not be found wanting.

        The true spirit behind Christmas is that of giving and sharing .

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities.

      Every human being was created equally. Equal rights, freedom, and love. We should show respect to others and also self-respect. We are obligated to be kind to one another and to love each other. Love everyone not hurt each other because that's the right thing to do.

      In this century where everyone are free frik doing what they want, there arrare still harassments and discriminations going on. We are free from evil and cruelty in the past. We should have our own rights because every human being was given the rights to choose what they want and what they love. God has given us our own rights because that's part of our existence in this world full of cruelty, judgment and injusticeinjusticeinjustice. Each and everyone of us was given rights that's supposed to be equal. We deserve equal rights because we are all human that God created. From that time that he created us, he gave us our rights and as we grow, he gives us many opportunities. We should be thankful in that but now that the world is changing, we can't feel the equality in everything. Equal rights, equal opportunities and also the gender equality.

        We have the right to have our own equal rights and get equal opportunities because we are all human after all. We all have rights and opportunities and it should be serve equal.

Children, Our Future!

            Dr. Jose Rizal once said that "Ang kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan", in this connection, every child, youth, can be the future leaders, future heroes of our nation. Taking care of them and giving them their rights can make it possible.

            The wealth of a nation is not so much in its economical and natural resources but it lies more decidedly in the kind and quality of the wealth of its children and youth. It is they who will be the creators and shapers of a nation's tomorrow. The children of today will be adults of tomorrow. Today's leaders and activist. Their quality and personality will determine the kind of destiny that beakons the nation. The youth of a nation is it's power-house. They have boundless stores of energy, will, capability, zeal, and enthusiasm and have the power to mold the destiny of the nation. This infinite storehouse of energy has to be given appropriate direction. The youth has to be trained to use their talents and abilities in constructive ways and help in nation-building and strengthening of it.

           The best way to engage the youth into playing such a constructive role is ti educate them with proper training in the desired direction.

Mapanuring Paggamit ng Gadget: Tungo sa Mapagkalingang Ugnayan sa Pamilya at Kapwa

         Nowadays, many people are using gadgets for a living. Because of this, some people are addicted to gadgets and can't live without it. But why can't we understand that using gadgets every time can destroy our health and especially communications and relationships?

         According to a study, a child will likely to become overweight and develop seizure and vision problems when they spend too much time using gadgets. Negative effects and excessive use of gadgets such as mobile phones, tablet, and computer desktops can cause physical and mental damage to the users especially children. Gadgets can really help us in some ways but not always. Students can take advantage of it because of school but it also has an disadvantage because of its excessive use. Everyday, when you walk along the street, when you go everywhere, you see people using phones, gadgets. Our technology is now more advanced than before, many inventions have been released. This inventions are keeps on upgrading that's why many people are using and buying it. Using gadgets every time means our communications to each other weakened, true that in using gadgets we can communicate but not personally. We can't enjoy being together and communicate because we are just using our gadgets. Our relationship won't grow because our communication is weak. Not just our  communications to other people but to our dear Lord. Some can not even go to church on Sundays because they choose to stay at home and play on their gadgets. This is a warning that we should not tolerate the excessive use of any gadgets.

        It's not like we can stop using it forever, I know that this can't be removed in our life but we should know how to control using it because it can damage our health and our communications to people and to our Lord.

Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang Kinabukasan

     As a student, I am aware that studying can give us a good future. It can change our life as we grow, learn, and continue our life and our future. This can lead us to become successful and happy.

       The theme promotes the love for reading and it's importance to the lifelong process of learning among Filipino learners. It is an endless learning and an endless journey that we take until death. Every day, we keep on learning different things and that will remain on us. Studying, reading and learning gives us courage to learn more and study hard so that our future will be good. If our future will be good, we can provide our needs in our daily life and we can be happy. If we are happy, we can also be contented. We can be contented in what we are capable of because of what we learned and what we will be learning, we can be contented in what we can be if we'll study hard. Being educated and having the power of education is the only treasure our parents can give us. Being ready in the future is a good choice than wasting times doing nothing, it is like wasting the best part of your life. To be able to study in this 21st century means a great opportunity because we are aware and we know that not all children and youth are given the chance to study because of poverty.

Just remember that learning new things will always be a challenge for us. Study and and let's do our best so that we can prove that studying can give us what we want and can give us a better, good and a successful future.

REFLECTION

   In our second quarter lessons, I have learned a lot of things like the use of the tags and of course the use of them that I always use but not knowing the things that are related to it. It teaches me how to use it properly and I also learned that every tags we use has its different use, make sure that it is properly used. I learned the use it properly and learned its meaning. I have learned a lot of things in our second quarter lessons because our teacher also helps us understand it more even though we don't have enough time to study our lessons.

The problems/challenges that I have encountered is that I am not aware of those tags that is important in an HTML document, I am not familiar about those things. I think most people are just like me. We don’t care if it can cause damages or problems to our devices, we just use it and that’s all.

In learning our lessons about tags, I have known a lot of things about it and how to use it properly. Now that I have learned the right things, I make sure that i can apply it properly and correctly. I don’t just type it and then go. I am much aware that it can affect my documents if I’m doing the wrong things. I have learned my lessons.

Moving on, I will continue to do what I have learned in the second quarter of ICT 10. It is a helpful lesson because it teaches not also me but all of us on how to correctly and properly apply the tags that are supposed to be used. This will help me more on doing the right things on the HTML documents.

   This year marks the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. "Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated. To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty."

    The persistence of poverty, including the extreme poverty is a major concern of each government in a country. It aims to ensure that the active participation of people living in extreme poverty and those furthest behind is a driving force in all efforts amde to overcome

Gurong Pilipino: Turo mo, Kinabukasan ko.

    My teacher, my hero. My teacher, my future. The theme gives tribute to the contribution of the Filipino teachers to the future of their students, despite the low wage and the few benefits they receive each month. 

   Our teachers have their own style in teaching the lessons and concepts to their students, but ultimately, their goal is one. This is the evolution of their students' knowledge, not just technical knowledge but also the moral behavior they have to grow up. Because of the power of teachers to influence young people, they have great impact on the future of their students. Many students take inspiration from their teachers to become a role model in our society. Doctors, engineers, lawyers, professionals and many more are the results of teachers teaching us. It is our right to give tribute to our teachers for their sacrifices everyday for us, students, despite their low salaries.

  Let's all give our teachers respect and gratitude when it comes to our future growth. Our future is our dept to our great teachers. 

WAVE FRONT: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancement

    The theme urges everyone of us to use our talents, maximize our knowledge and unleash our potentials so that we can contribute in the development, progress and advancement of our technology. We may not know it but even the smallest efforts we made can contribute to our society and inspire others to take actions too.

    Technology has been long present in the world. However, we use it in an abusive manner. We must learn to discover our own inner potentials so that we can contribute to technological advancement in our own way. Our passion for something can lead us to find ways to make our work more efficient. Contributing to more efficiency is a technology itself because it helps us make our life, our living, easier. If we can discover our potentials as early as now, we will know more about ourselves such as our weaknesses and  strengths. If we know these, we can capitalize our own strengths and improve our weaknesses or overcome them.

    Who knows, we might be the next great scientist, doctor, architect, engineer, teacher, or officer in the future, but regardless of what occupation we might have, if we can accentuate our potentials, we can surely make a difference to make this world a better place, just like how technology does it.

Filipino, Staying Strong!

Many disasters has already damaged our country. All of it has a great impact to each and everyone of us. But despite all the hardships, we stayed strong and succeeded those challenges.

Philippines, our country is inside the Pacific Ring of Fire, we are experiencing many disasters like volcanic eruption, earthquakes and typhoons that includes flooding, landslides and damage to properties. Every year, we are experiencing different disasters that many of the Filipinos are getting used to it. As a Filipino citizen who also experiencing those disasters, I believe that it is a challenge that God has given us that even though many people die, there are those who succeeded. We are living not only for ourselves and not because God has created us but to fight every challenges and problems that he gives. Despite all of it,we’re still fighting for our lives, we still managed to fight every challenges that may come. It is evidently shown that every time we are facing disasters, we are helping each other to get over the challenge given. We are helping others not only ourselves because that is the only thing that we could possibly do if we’re stuck in evacuation area.

Helping people is one of the most important thing to do during disasters or emergencies. But there are still those who are so selfish to even help others. But we surely will fight and stay connected to God because he always give us challenges that he knows we can succeed of.

REFLECTION

In our first quarter lessons, I have learned a lot of things like the use of the search engines and of course the history of the internet that I always use but not knowing the things that are related to it. It teaches me how to use it properly and I also learned that every web page you visit, make sure that it is valid. I learned the use of the www and its meaning. I have learned a lot of things in our first quarter lessons because our teacher also helps us understand it more.

The problems/challenges that I have encountered is that I am more used to using the internet browsers and not knowing the disadvantages like if there are viruses that can affect my laptop of is it save to open that particular website. I think most people using internet is just like me. We don’t care if it can cause damages or problems to our devices, we just use it and that’s all.

Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik

       

             Ang tema ng buwan ng wika ngayon ay "Filipino: Wika ng saliksik". Maraming iba't-ibang aktibidad at ang pagbalik-tanaw sa kasaysayan ng ating pambansang wika.

             Ang wika ng saliksik o language of research sa ingles ay nagbibigay kaalaman at pagbabalik-tanaw sa mga sinaunang mga pangyayari na dapat nating malaman sapagkat ito ang nagturo sa atin kung paano mabuhay sa kasalukuyang panahon. Sa ating araw-araw na pamumuhay, marami sa iba ang nasanay na sa wikang ingles na nagdudulot ng hindi pagkakaintindihan at ang mahirap na pagkaunawa sa mga malalalim at matatalinhagang salita. Kailangan pa nating magsaliksik upang malaman ang ibig-sabihin ng mga ito. Kailangan nating pangalagaan at paunlarin ang ating sariling wika dahil pamana ito ng ating mga ninuno. Bilang isang mamamayang Pilipino, dapat nating ipreserba at pagyamanin angating sariling wika dahil ito ang simbolo ng ating pagka-pilipino. Dapat tayo ang magsilbing inspirasyon ng mga susunod na henerasyon para pagyamanin pa ang ating pambanasang wika. Tayo miso ang gagawa ng paraan para malaman ang mga dapat nating alam bilang siang Pilipino. Kasama lahat ng ito sa ating kultura at tradisyon na tayo mismomg mga pilipino ang dapat makaalam. Kailangan nating turuan ang mga mas nakababata at pati ang mga nakakatanda sa atin na respetuhin at bigyang galanag ang ating sariling wika sapagkat ito lamang ang ating maitutulong bilang isang mamamayan ng bansang Pilipinas.

            Ang wikang Filipino ang ating wika. Ito ang wika tungo sa kaunlaran nga ating bansa. Mula noon, hanggang ngayon. Filipino ating wikang sinilangan, dapat mahalin at alagaan para sa ikauunlad ng bansa pati na rin ang kapwa.

State of the Nation Address Reaction

              Our President's 3rd SONA revolves with so many highlights and are important. He started his speech saying "About 2 years ago, I solemnly took my oath as a worker of the national government. I was inspired to institute real changes for the greater good of the Filipino people."

             Our President is really doing his best to fulfill his duties and all the responsibilities given to him. We all know that he is doing what he can just to change our country for good. In his third state of the nation address, he first highlight that the war on drugs is far from over because he is more concern on human lives not human rights. He also addresses that corruption must stop to improve delivery of services. He also said that the budget for Mindanao is being increased and he promised that by the end of his term, he wants to see the fulfillment of his promise. He also emphasized that war is not an option, which is great because in this, it will help other people to be aware that war ca never be an option and can cause many problems in our lives and especially our country. He really is determined to change our county and give peace as he conducted more efforts to stop all the wrong doings of our fellow citizens. He is inserting much effort as he promised to change our nation. Our life is more important than anything, we should be aware of that and our President is doing his best to protect each one of us. In illegal drugs, he said that it wasted away lives, dysfunctionalized families and ruined relationships. We should help him also in doing what is right because it is also for our own good and not just for him.

             We are Filipinos and we help each other. In his term, we should be cooperating and helping each other so that we can achieve our freedom. Freedom that we all want to achieve a long time ago.

"Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin!"

             Every peoples nutrition's very important. Our health is the most important. We are the one who is capable in our own good so we should eat healthy foods to prolong our life. We are the one who has the responsibility to create our fortune and our future but we should take care of our health so that we can do what we all want. By staying healthy, we could be successful in the future and have a healthy life and a healthy living.

              Nowadays, there are so many people who is malnourished and obese especially kids. We should be aware of that because it is evident that we are lack of nutrients that is keeping our body weak and tired. We are getting this problem bigger and can have a solution. Before it's too late, we should do our best to give the enough nutrition to those who are in need of it. But the most problem is that our economic. We are not that rich and people are not the same. Because of poverty, this kids are not getting enough nutrition that they need to grow.Because of poverty, many people are suffering in not eating what they deserve and what is right. We all deserve to be healthy and live our life but in eating unhealthy foods, it's not impossible to die at early age. Also in drinking liquors and smoking, it can affect our health that can cause to death. We have the power to decide and I decided to choose healthy living.

               Be aware of what is right and wrong. Be the role model to advocate other people in eating healthy foods and avoiding drugs, liquors and cigarettes. I choose to live my life longer, I choose to live healthy. I am inviting you to join me in living our life to the fullest with a healthy body that leads to a healthy and bright future.

Mr. President,

Greetings! I am Maui MIkaella De Guia from Pandan, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur. I am 15 years old and in 10th grade at Ilocos Sur National High School. I am a proud Filipino and even though I didn't like you at first, I believe in you. I know that you're very busy and all people know that you are a hardworking President and I admire you for that. I am writing this letter to say sorry because at first I don't believe the way you run our country especially about your drug campaign, that all people are talking about on how it's getting successful. Also about the last issue about Marawi. I am deeply sorry that I was dismissive and failed to meaningfully support and involve myself. I turned deaf, blind and mute. But sir, I believe that you represent change. Mr. President, thank you for doing your duties and responsibilities on protecting and keeping peace in our country. I have learned my lesson and shall be a better daughter, citizen and defender of this country. You have shown us love of country and have taught us very well on owning tough decisions. I really much appreciate your efforts. Thank you very much, Mr. President.
